San Diego's newest condominium building Savina, broke ground back in December 2015. This new development by Bosa and Kettner & Ash, is located in the popular Little Italy and Columbia neighborhoods of downtown. It's just east of the developers luxury Bayside condominiums and to the north of the Sapphire condominiums.

When complete, the building will feature 36 floors and 285 units with 12 one bedroom floor plans and the rest will be two bedroom floor plans. There will be over 530 parking spaces on three subterranean level as well as over 11,000 ft.² of retail space on the ground floors. It's due for completion by late 2018.

This one-of-a-kind location features sophisticated design, stylish new interiors, and a variety of amenities perfect for just about anyone looking for a luxury lifestyle in the heart of downtown San Diego.

Pricing is still a few months off. Amenities are likely to include a beautiful pool deck, fitness room, a landscaped plaza plus many other perks and amenities.

One of the most interesting things about Savina is the architecture and design. It is designed by a Vancouver architectural firm headed by Hossein Amanat and has already won widespread praise by Civic San Diego when it was approved back in 2011. This will be one of the most interesting structures in recent years. Many City planners and developers feel that this will be a good Gateway building to the northerly end of downtown.

This new project will mark the final phase of the north end of formal rail yards and warehouses around the Santa Fe Depot. Residential development has been a master plan for several decades and the century-old depot has been restored and guaranteed to be preserved into the future. Savina will be a beautiful addition to this neighborhood.

Prices for downtown condominiums have returned to their 2007 levels and in some cases beyond. Many young professionals and retiring baby boomers are both seeking an urban lifestyle. Other buyers include second homebuyers from Arizona, Nevada, and Texas.
